TRAINING COURSE

 

Definition: 

Contemporary History of Islam World program is one of the postgraduate programs which thematically and scientifically analyses and explains historical events, developments in various relevant fields such as political, social, cultural and economic changes in the contemporary context in different regions of the Middle East, Africa, the Subcontinent, South East Asia, Central Asia, Caucasia, Turkey, the Balkans .
 
Educational Objectives:
 
     1. Recognizing the historical roots of the problems and questions in the world of Islam
     2. Recognizing the factors affecting the world of Islam
     3. Recognizing the intellectual-cultural developments in the contemporary history of Islam world
 
Importance and Necessity:
 
Among the history of nations, the accounts of Muslim nations in the contemporary time have considerable importance. Through realizing the current situation of the world Muslims, the governments, and sects the Muslim scholars have a better understanding of the today’s situation of Muslims and as a result they can have an effective planning and solution for the problems. Moreover, recognizing the contemporary history is a necessity for the Al-Mustafa International University-with the volume and diversity of international students.
 
Program Structure:
 
      The MA Contemporary History of Islam World program is studied over 5 semester
      The educational system is credit-based
      Each theoretical credit is equal to 16 hours studied in a 16-week semester
      Each practical credit is equal to 32 hours.
 
Course Units:
 
There are a total of 64 credits to be studied in MA Contemporary History of Islam World. The majority of the credits are  theoretical and research-based. The credits are divided into two categories as:

       b. Specialized courses

Role and Effectiveness:
Through knowledge acquired by historical studies, the graduates of the program are able to function as qualified researchers in the academic institutions in their own countries and world over. They can also continue their education and be more effective in expansion and elevation of the Shiite culture and civilization and exhibit it to the other societies and be useful in achieving the abovementioned objectives.
