TRAINING COURSE

Definition:

 

PhD Political Jurisprudence is a taught-research based program in the field of Political Jurisprudence during which students learn related course units through taught classes and research studies. Over successful completion of the program, students are conferred PhD Political Jurisprudence.

 

Major objectives:

     Achieving deducing skills within the field and inference skills in the issues related to Political Jurisprudence

     Instructing researchers and theorists in the field of Political Jurisprudence

     Producing knowledge and developing the field of Political Jurisprudence

     Adopting a practical approach in order to design political system of Islam

    Providing academic support for political system of Islam compared to other political systems and answering relevant questions

     Instructing lecturers to teach in local and international seminary schools and universities

 

Educational Policies:

      Considering regional and national needs when designing the program

      Providing academic support for jurisprudence of Ahl-e Byat while considering the principles of other Islamic sects

      Adopting research-based approach in the program

      Attempting to design a practical program

 

Admission:

Applicants who studied BA Political Jurisprudence can apply for the program

Note: Applicants with other academic qualifications can apply for the program; however, they are required to pass the pre-requisite course units

 

Program structure and duration:

      Students shall pass 80 credits in the PhD Political Jurisprudence program during five years (10 semesters). Students are allowed to extend the   course for maximum one year

      The program is designed to have 40 per cent of credits to be conducted through research work

       Students are required to present a thesis calculated as 18 credits at the end of the program

       Each theoretical credit takes 16 hours and each practical credit takes 32 hours

Role and effectiveness:

 

The graduates of this program are deeply familiar with political jurisprudence and the politics taught in universities. They can answer questions regarding Islam and give consultancy regarding political issues to Muslims. They can also become lecturer in the field of Islamic political jurisprudence in universities and academic institutes.

 

Importance and necessity:

 

Designing and running PhD Political Jurisprudence is necessary because of the constant development of Jurisprudence and occurrence of new issues, vast needs of societies to detailed and practical answers within the field of jurisprudence in order to create balance between modern issues and jurisprudential answers for such issues in all aspects of social and individual life of Muslims particularly regarding international policies and modern political challenges.
