TRAINING COURSE

 

Definition:

The MA Mysticism and Sufism is a specialized program in which the participants deeply learn the modules and after successful completion of the program they receive MA in Mysticism and Sufism.

Educational Goals and Policies:

  • Developing the skills in authoring and translating technical texts.

  • Having attention to innovation and producing academic theories in relevant fields

  • Developing critical analysis skills and explaining Mysticism and Sufism methodologically.

  • Expanding the ability of understanding Mysticism and Sufism

  • Training experts in the area of Mysticism and Sufism

Importance and Necessity:

Given that Mysticism and Sufism is being taught throughout the world of Islam, their presence in the majority of Islamic sects and schools, educational and uniting role of Mysticism and Sufism and most importantly tendency of Islamic Mystical and Sufi schools toward the Ahl-e Bayt and their proximity to the Shiite, it is necessary to have the Mysticism and Sufism program. One the one hand, the Sufism has had profound effects on the world of Islam and on the other hand, it has always been exposed to the danger of deviation and extremism and misunderstanding. Therefore, studying and understanding it has been especially important.

Program Structure:

  • There are a total of 64 credits studied over 5 semesters

  • Theoretical and practical credits are 16 and 32 hours respectively

  • Participants must submit a dissertation that accounts for 4 credits.

Role and Effectiveness:

The participants will possess many academic and practical skills. They cover a vast domain in the field of Islamic culture and knowledge; their skills and characters in mysticism and morality will also developed; they will be capable of communicating with mysticism schools in the world of Islam and will learn about schools’ drawbacks as well as their positive points.
